Myself Dr Josh- A Board Certified Physician and I’m happy to help with your question today.
Usually, pink eye is related with Viral Conjunctivitis.
If he has Bacterial conjunctivitis, then it would produce a thicker, yellow-green discharge.
From the description, it sounds to be Viral Conjunctivitis.
In most cases, no treatment is given for viral conjunctivitis.
Most likely, he would be free from eye condition, in one week.
Opcon-A Ophthalmic would temporarily relieve eye redness. Yes, he can continue to use it.
No need to worry, it would get resolve by its own.
Hope this helped
