Customer Question

I'm a 63 yr old woman and I have worms. I put gloves on and retrieve some of my stool. What I saw was disgusting. I thought maybe pinworms, but I saw worms that were 4inches long and others looked like earthworms, also very stringy and mucous. Some abdominal discomfort. Took reese's pinworm med a week ago. Everytime I have a bm I am still unloading quite a few. Also what are those black things? Worms too, or larvae? Still feel them on my anus. Can I take another dose now? What could my primary give me?
JA: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
Customer: No I haven't but did call. they told me to take the reeses a week ago. Our granddaughter who is 17 came 2 live with us as she was living with the parents in very filthy conditions. They have 6 cats in the house, so I laundered some old clothing
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: no not really. I tell them everything. also have rheumatoid arthritis. but I telling you I check my stool everyday and still getting rid of these. could I have ingested eggs off of clothing that cats have peeed or pooped on?
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Doctor about your situation and then connect you two.

Thank you for your question.
I am Dr Saha, I shall try my best to help you.
4 inches long worms are unlikely to be pinworm.
Pin worm is small, usually less than 1/2 inch in length.
Those can be round worms, tape worms etc.
I feel you need to take a stool test by doctor.
The type of worm will be clear.
Reese's pinworm medicine works against roundworm, hookworm too.
But treatment would be specific after a stool test.
I hope this information helps.
