Customer Question

I started repatha in December. I have been having muscle cramps very painful since. My CPk level is now 674. Is this likely related? Or do I need to be worked up for autoimmune or heart or what?
JA: Do you know if your family has a history of heart disease? In general, how would you describe your health lately?
Customer: Good health. I have fatty liver disease. I do not drink alcohol. My father had a heart attack in his 6os. I have never smoked or done drugs . I do have HBP and high cholesterol. I did have a cortisone shot in Dec.

Thank you for all the information,
Repatha can cause muscle pain, muscle cramps.
However, rise of CPK from it is not clear.
You can need repeat test.
CPK level can be increased in a few diseases of muscle or myositis, heart issues
Strenuous exercise, injections can also cause a rise.
It usually subsides in a few days but sometimes may prolong for weeks.
Please take adequate rest, fluid.
Doctor can take repeat tests after one to two weeks.
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
If you are satisfied, please rate my answer as good or excellent.
Regards.
