20 Year old, African-American, Male
I have allergies and asthma.
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.

I would consider two diagnostic possibilities;

1) Pityriasis alba

2) Vitiligo or leucoderma.

The first one is a self limiting disease and do not need treatment. Vitiligo would require long term treatment with local application cream, oral medications and ultraviolet rays.

Please feel free for your follow up questions.

I would be happy to assist you further, if you need any more information.

I have some of those patches on my face as well
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Alba occurs on face too. This is likely to be alba by the picture. But as discussed vitiligo should be ruled out.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
what is alba?
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
We discussed pityriasis alba which is self limiting.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What do you mean by that? Is it contagious? By the way, I take lots of hot baths and showers.
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.

Pityriasis Alba is not contagious. It is not caused by hot showers.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok. What causes Pityriasis Alba?
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.

Alba can be caused by vitamin deficiency.

I would also consider mild grade candidiasis as one of possibility.. You may apply over the counter Monistat cream.
