Customer Question

Hello. I hit myself in the head in the gym close to 6 weeks ago with a 45lb bar we used to lift weights. I recently had a tummy tuck and was afraid to lift the bar. When I drug it to put it back I bonked myself pretty hard on the side of my head. Now I have a big knot on the side right above my ear. It didn't notice any bruising and it doesn't hurt at all. It just hasn't gone down. Just wondering if I would be concerned.
JA: The Doctor will need to help you with this. Is there anything else the Doctor should be aware of?
Customer: No. I'm pretty healthy and have had no other symptoms.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Doctor about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello

As long as your doctor examines this, I don't see any concern.

Could you advise what it may be? Swelling,etc..how long does it normally take to go down?
Expert:  DrThomasMD replied 6 months ago.

It sounds normal for a bump on the head.

It can take a week or more to go down.

But your doctor needs to examine this if you have a concern.

Hands on.

I will have my doctor check it out.

Then exam is a requirement.

It should not still be there.

Hairline fracture should be ruled out.
