Customer Question

I have asthma. Have had a sore throat for about 3 days. Now that is gone, replaced by nasal congestion, chest congestion, cough and laryngitis. I don't have a fever, but am coughing up thick, green mucus. Do I need to see a doctor for antibiotics?

Hi,Green mucus indicates infection with bacterial in origin or allergic bronchitis. You should do steam inhalation and saline gargles. Also antibiotic is required if such green mucus is persistent all the time you cough.Take OTC Advil and Zyrtec. And try Mucinex DM.Drink warm liquids.Elevate your head while sleeping with an extra pillow. And see your doctor as well. It's my privilege to help you if you have any further query regarding your this health issue. We are here to serve you until you satisfy. It's good to discuss rather than quit. Please avoid poor/bad rating.Positive feedback and bonus are highly appreciated if you satisfied with our conversation.Thanks.
