Thank you for your question.

I am Dr Saha, I shall try my best to help you.

Common cause is hemorrhoid.

Anal fissure can cause bleeding with stool, it is usually associated with sharp pain.

Inflammatory bowel diseases, diverticulitis, polyp, growth etc. can be the causes.

Infection can cause blood in stool but it is usually mixed with loose stool.

As you do not have any other symptom, it can be bleeding from hemorrhoid, which is a commoner cause and you had a history.

You need to consult doctor to have a check up.

Till you see doctor, you can apply Preparation H.

Try to keep stool soft. Improvement of constipation may help to reduce the symptoms.

Other home measures include bowel softeners, & plenty of fluid , fresh fruits or vegetables.

I hope this information helps.

If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
