My wife thinks she has been bitten on her heal while going

Customer Question

My wife thinks she has been bitten on her heal while going up the stairs .
I think it may have been a Daddy Long Leg , as we have them in our house .
She can't walk on her heal due to the pain.
There is no evidence of a bite but she can't stand on her heal .
This happened about 5 pm & feels the same , nearly two hours ago .
Please would advise .
Thank you .

Hello,

I'm Dr Chaithanya attending you.

Do you see any bite marks on the heel?

Is the heel swollen or red?

Expert:  Dr Chaithanya replied 11 months ago.

I wanted to say that it is myth that Daddy long leg spider can bite the human, as their fangs very small and cannot enter the human skin. So, check for any marks or any points on the heel and let me know along with other symptoms?

Expert:  Dr Chaithanya replied 11 months ago.

Now see if you can see any sting if you suspect a insect bite, remove the sting. Clean the area of the heel with soap and water. Give a cold compression with a cloth dipped in cold water, don't scratch. Take a over the counter antihistamine tablet and paracetomol or Ibuprofen painkiller available over the counter. Apply 1% Hydrocortisone on the area, and rest for a while.

If you think the swelling and pain or increasing, it is time to visit the hospital.
