I just received my x rays that indicate cervical c5c6

Customer Question

I just received my x rays that indicate cervical c5c6 narrowing with osteophytes and spondylosis with mild dextroscoliosis
Thoracic mid level Levoscoliosis
Lumbar region previous fusion l4-l5 and l5-s1 with probable ankylosis across these spaces.
My fusion was in 2011, I'm relatively scared about the new findings of scoliosis. Can you enlighten me as to what and where I should start with my medical care. Does the ankylosis mean my I have ankylosing spondylitis? All of these findings are fairly new, I thought I was better after my fusion. Helpūüėé

Hi there,
This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

These changes are due to the result of aging process.

Degenerative changes of wear and tear as well.

Cervical spine narrowing and curvature are mild.

Hence initially physical therapy is the mainstay.

Then you can see a pain specialist to consider epidural steroid injections if needed.

Ankylosis means stiffness of the joints due to the fusion.

This is different from ankylosing spondylitis which means signs of inflammation as well.
Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
