PEth in blood is a promising new marker for ethanol abuse. This is not for an alcohol consumption detection for immediate use. None of the biological markers used at the present time is sensitive and specific enough for the diagnosis of alcoholism. The most frequently used alcohol markers (for abuse) are carbohydrate deficient transferrin (CDT) and gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT). PEth is considered slightly better than these nowadays.
It is privilege assisting you.
