40yr old,Diabetic, sore throat and cough started Sunday

40yr old,Diabetic, sore throat and cough started Sunday night. I can keep the fever down with tylonal cold and flu for about 2 hrs.
Right now fever is 102.1 and sugars are 245. Do I keep fighting this?

I am sorry for your symptoms.

Sore throat, fever can be from a viral infection.

A bacterial infection can also be there.

In infection, control of diabetes can be difficult.

I would suggest to take an examination by doctor.

A throat swab can be taken to check for bacterial infection

You can need antibiotic for it.

You can repeat tylenol, it can be taken 4-6 hourly.

But please do not exceed 4 g. of acetaminophen in 24 hours.

Motrin can be taken if there is no other contraindication.
