Customer Question

Good afternoon
I felt today an ubearable pain inside my head (top right side) for a seconds then it went away .
I am suffering from a severe disk protrusion c5 & c6 & since about 12 days i have a severe pain in my neck , shoulders .
I was prescribed since a year ago to visit to physiotherapist but i ignored it .
Is there any relation between cervical spine & such head pain ?

Hello,
Thank you for your question.
I am Dr Saha, I shall try my best to help you.

I am sorry for your symptoms.

C5 & C6 disc protrusion will cause pain in the outer side of shoulders, forearm.

Those would not affect the top side of head.

C2 pain can be felt in the side of the head.

There can be other causes for the pain like a vascular headache, ice pick headache.

I would suggest to inform your doctor about the pain.

I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
If you are satisfied, please rate my answer as good or excellent.
Regards.

Anxiety, stress can play a role.

Muscle relaxants can be prescribed by your doctor.

I feel you need to take the exercises under the supervision of physiotherapist.

If you have not consulted an orthopedic recently, you can have one

Improvement depends on the underlying disease condition, severity.

All cases may not get the same response.

I feel you can consult with orthopedic first, he can suggest it after evaluation.
