Customer Question

I had a question about nasal pressure. For a while I was feeling pressure on the left side of my nose (left nostril) where the bridge is.... maybe on and off for months but now its gone. Would that just be sinuses? I do have allergies

Are there any nasal discharge, headache?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No no discharge or headaches....
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
In the same nostril though, on a few occasions there was a little bit of blood from boogers that came from that area in that same nostril
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Its all gone now and doest happen anymore, but just wondering what the cause would have been
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

Thank you for all the information,
The symptoms can be due to allergy.
Sinus infection can cause such symptoms too.
Viral or mild bacterial infection can be cured by its own.
Forceful blowing can cause little bleeding from nose.
Otc antiallergy medicine like zyrtec can help in allergy.
If it repeats, then you can take an appointment with an ENT doctor.
I hope this information helps.
If there’s anything else I can do, please let me know.
If you are satisfied, please rate my answer as good or excellent.

There wasn't any forceful blowing. It doesn't happen anymore but over a period of weeks / months it happened a few times where there was a tiny amount of dried blood in it. Is this most likely allergies if it went away or happens once in a while'/
? What about the pressure?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Also, it feels like only air goes through that nostril, and the other one feels blocked a lot. When I breathe through that nostril I can feel the cold air hit my throat. Does this mean its dry, or what? Is that why there was pressure / bloody boogers?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

Blood can come from irritation.

It can come without forceful blowing.

There can be deviation of septum, polyp which can cause blockage, pressure sensation.

Allergy or inflammation can cause such symptoms too.

is it something to be worried about?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Or not if its gone or only happens occasionally?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

Those are not worrying.

Usually those are minor issues.

But if the symptoms continue to repeat, you need to take an examination.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are any of those symptoms of nasal perforation? Would you be able to see this if it happened?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

Why do you suspect perforation?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im just asking.... I read about it online
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That said theres pressure or bleeding?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

Perforation would cause pain.

The symptoms would be persisting.

It does not sound like perforation.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It would? So if the symptoms all went away..... it shouldn't be perforation?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

It should not be.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok, thank you. Would a doctor have easily seen perforation if they checked your nose during a regular exam?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

You are always welcome.

Yes, doctor will detect it easily when he examines the nose.

If you are satisfied, please leave an excellent rating.

Best wishes.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
would you also be able to see it easily if you looked at your nose with a flashlight? So if I don't see one -then most likely not there?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 1 year ago.

You may not be able to see it yourself.

Doctor will examine it with scope.
