I'm 46 and had not had a mammogram since 1.5 yr. I"m worried

Customer Question

Hi
I'm 46 and had not had a mammogram since 1.5 yr. I"m worried because about 1 yr. ago my left breast started itching on the aureola and the skin on the lower half o my breast, itching is not severe and the aureola skin got a bit dryith several small flat bumps which were same color as aureola . Today I noticed the bottom half of the aureola has become lighter in color than the rest. There is no pain, crustin, no oozing of liquids or any changes in the nipple whatsoever. What could be the problem?
thank you for your help

Hi and sorry for the delay.
The small bumps in the areola are Montgomery glands and that is totally benign.
It sounds as though you may have an eczema problem in your breast but nothing you've told me resembles breast cancer
That said, you should have your doctor look at this
