Hi--can you tell me all that's going on please?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My jugular vein on my right side hurts
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
But you also mentioned being light headed?
And where exactly is the pain you think might be your jugular vein?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm 95% positive it's my jugular because I can feel the pulse really strongly
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm afraid my batteries going to die my phone
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
So is it tender there? Does it hurt to move your neck?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes it's tender to touch and it hurts to move my neck to the left
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The battery on my phone is going to die and I'm very scared
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
OK We can continue after this but I think this is just a muscle strain and tension from your anxiety.
First off, since the jugular vein is a vein it really doesn't have a pulse one can feel. The carotid artery definitely does have a pulse but it doesn't become tender.
So you're probably feeling your carotid pulse but this is just the muscle around the artery and really nothing to worry about
If it's still a problem tomorrow, have your doctor take a look but there's nothing urgent about this
