This answer was rated:

Another Person and I got in a Fight, Attacked Me while I did nothing, but, if even, basic self defense, and at one point He was pulling My Hair really hard, and/or possibly digging his Nails into My Scalp, since then it, the scalp, has been Painful, Numb, Itchy, Possibly Tingling, when Scratching, it is Painful, and unusually Flaky/Dandruff, it has been almost a week and is slowly getting better, but not fast enough. I Need Some Help, Information, Assistance, Treatment/Management/Alleviation of Symptoms. I Don't Know if Skin/My Scalp is/was Broken and/or Red(dened).

Please, and, Thank You.

Dr. D.J. :

Hi there,

This is Dr. D.J., experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Dr. D.J. :

Flaky skin and dandruff can be due to the seborrheic dermatitis.

Dr. D.J. :

This is an inflammation of the scalp that can be precipitated by the fighting.

Dr. D.J. :

You can try over the counter Selsun blue shampoo 3 times weekly for treatment.

Dr. D.J. :

The pain, numbness and tingling are likely related to the nerve injury on the scalp.

Dr. D.J. :

This may take several weeks to heal,

Dr. D.J. :

However, you should watch out for any red warm rash which can signify bacterial infection.

Dr. D.J. :

These symptoms can be treated with an anti inflammatory medication like Advil.

Dr. D.J. :

Also vitamin B12 and B6 supplements may be helpful.

Customer:

Forgot to Add, it is Very Tender as well.

Dr. D.J. :

ok

Dr. D.J. :

do you notice any rash or cut?

Customer:

Haven't had a chance for My Mother to look

Customer:

Not sure how else to tell

Dr. D.J. :

try a mirror

Customer:

I wasn't able to see it via a mirror

Dr. D.J. :

ok

Dr. D.J. :

see tenderness can be suggestive of infection.

Dr. D.J. :

I will suggest you to see your doctor for a clinical evaluation.

Dr. D.J. :

Antibiotic will be required for infection.

Customer:

Unfortunately that will have to wait for someone to look at it I'm Guessing

Customer:

Oh

Dr. D.J. :

yes see above

Customer:

I do have a weakened Immune System so that is likely

Customer:

Methotrexate+Remicade

Customer:

Would it be a Topical Antibiotic or Systemic?

Customer:

If Required

Dr. D.J. :

systemic will be required.

Dr. D.J. :

augmentin or clindamycin.

Customer:

Okay, that is better, I dislike Topical Treatments

Dr. D.J. :

yes

Customer:

Well, it appears, for the time, all has been Addressed, though would Redness qualify as a Rash?

Dr. D.J. :

yes it will since painful.

Customer:

My Mother did take a Quick Look a while ago I just remembered, not Detailed, but she said it was Red

Customer:

Alright then

Dr. D.J. :

likely infection.

Dr. D.J. :

do not take a chance.

Customer:

I will have it Looked At, Thank You. (On a side note, I like Your "Name", Same as Mine Would be if/when I become a Doctor, Same Initials Basically, D.R.J.)

Dr. D.J. :

Dr. D.J. :

Customer:
