did HE get serum ADH level checked
Customer: replied 8 months ago.

No

Expert:  Dr. Natasha replied 8 months ago.
Hi Kumar
Well, there is a whole algorithm in which you investigate hyponatremia, which is low sodium.
one of the major causes includes syndrom of inappropriate ADH secretion.
He needs to have these levels checked. They can be caused by problems in the brain, usually seen on MRI, but also by undiagnosed lung cancer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syndrome_of_inappropriate_antidiuretic_hormone_secretion

Other causes would be hypothyroidism, Addison's diease, congestive heart failure, and medication.

You need to consider these possibilities and test for them

I hope that this helped

please leave positive feedback if it did :-)
