This answer was rated:

I fell the other day & hit my chin. As a result I bit my tongue pretty hard & now have a bruise on the left side of my tongue & on the bottom of my tongue. The bottom of my tongue is purplish & now there is a lump. There was no bleeding involved and the pain is minimal. Is this something that will go away on its own? This happened two days ago.

Thank you for your question,

I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.

How large is the lump?

Is there any change in its size?
