Welcome to and thank you for your question.
I am going to assist you with your question. First I need a little more information-

Is it painful to touch?
Is it soft? Is it movable?
Has lump increased in size, since last few months?
Are you suffering from any medical condition or on any medication ?
Do you have any other associated symptoms?

Kind Regards,
Dr. Robert

just a slight soreness, but have been prodding it abit the last 12 hrs not movable, slight softness..think it`s the same medication or associated symptons apart from tiredness but that can be put down to stress.

Dear XXXXX, Thanks for providing quick additional information.
I'm so sorry to hear of your discomfort.

It could occur due to any of these possibilities-
1) A Dermoid cyst
2) An Osteoma
3) A Sebaceous cyst.

It is harmless and benign in nature.
They are very common. Usually they are small of the pea size but sometimes they slowly get bigger over many months to become a few centimeters in diameter.

Red inflamed and painful cyst is indicative of infection. If required a course of antibiotics should be given.

Also if the condition doesn't improve , then it can be removed by a simple operation under local anesthesia. In such case a small incision is made over the cyst. Typically, the cyst can be easily removed.

I advise that you should be seen by doctor for management of this issue.

Please let me know how I can be of further assistance.
