Sorry this is going to be a long explanation....

Two weeks ago I started sneezing, had a runny nose and a sore throat. It progressed into a bad cough that produced chunks of yellow phlegm. I went to a critical care center and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis. I was given a five day course of Azithromycin 250 MG and Benzonatate 200 MG three times a day for the cough.

I still have the cough although it isn't as bad as it was, it is usually a dry, barking cough. I am not feeling all that bad, not really tired or exhausted, but yesterday I woke up with pain in my right shoulder blade. I cannot lift my arm over shoulder level and it doesn't really respond to advil.

I do already have a rotator cuff injury, but it doesn't usually affect my shoulder blade. Is this something possibly related to the bronchitis?
Do you have pain in chest while coughing and deep breathing?
Associated neck stiffness?
Shortness of breath?
Pain radiating to arm as well?
Swelling,redness on affected area?

Thanks dear.

No to all, the cough is annoying but not painful.

Thanks for providing additional information.
I understand your concern and it's my pleasure to help you in every aspect.
As per your description, usually cough is lingering for few days to week after taking complete course of antibiotics in acute Bronchitis.
So your symptoms are in recovery phase.
Now pain in shoulder blade can be caused due to possible differential diagnosis like Muscloskeletal pain due to poor posture, muscular overexertion,Gall bladder disease,Renal calculi.
It can be related to your previous rotator cuff injury.
And now Advil is not relieving your pain so i suggest you to consult your doctor.
Do massage with Diclofenac sodium ointment on affected area.

Hope this helps.
