I get cold sores and my daughter put my toothbrush in her mouth

This answer was rated:

I get cold sores and my daughter put my toothbrush in her mouth after I had used it about 4 hrs earlier. I'm not sure if it was dried out or not. How likely is it that the virus was passed on?
Hi--very unlikely she would have contracted the herpes 1 virus like this. The virus can only survive outside the body for less than 30 minutes even in a moist environment so basically you really don't have to worry here

Thank you so much. I have read that it can survive on a moist surface for like a week and I currently have on ob so I was very worried.

I don't know where you read that but it simply isn't correct.
