I HAVE BEEN OVERWEIGHT FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS. I LOST A LARGE AMOUNT AND KEPT IT OFF. RECENTLY I WANTED TO LOOSE THE LAST 30 POUNDS AND I WAS DOING THAT BUT THE FAT IN MY THIGHS KEPT INCREASING. WHAT IS WRONG AND WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT.

Sorry for late reply and inconvenience.

As per your inputs,your BMI is 32.8
This gives an indication that you are obese.
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
A weight loss of more than 2 pounds per week is not good due to what is called Yoyo effect( the cycle of losing and regaining weight).
This happens when a person tries to reduce a significant amount of weight in a short period of time through rigid dieting and then suddenly discontinues dieting because of boredom or sheer hunger. When this happens, the person gains weight but this time becomes even heavier than before dieting started.

Cut your calories intake.

Do Yoga ,aerobic exercise-walking, swimming, deep breathing exercises.
It is harder to lose weight as we get older but it certainly can be done.Swimming,bike riding can help in losing weight especially on thighs.
Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Increase Fibre in diet.
Take six small meals rather than large meals.
Avoid Fats, fried foods.
Drink Plenty of water(10- 15 glasses per day).
Stress and anxiety can be main contributing factors in your case.
Thyroid function test should be done if you have not done in last few months.
So discuss your symptoms with your doctor for further evaluation and management.
You can ask your doctor for FDA approved Orlistat which is a weight loss pill.

this is nothing that I do not know already. I have done most of what you have said, and I am still accumulating excess amount of fat on my thighs. you have not really addressed the problem, but given me generalities.
