What did your CT scan of lung and arterial blood gas show?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im not sure what they showed but what ever test they gave me it all cleared
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Hello Shawn,

Any person with unexplained breathlessness should have the pulmonary vascular system evaluated. Chest CT angiography can provide pertinent clues to the diagnosis and is next step of evaluation in your case. Ventilation/perfusion (V/Q) scanning is another imaging technique that is important for the diagnosis here. You should discuss these with your doctor. Seeking a referral to pulmonolgist would also be required, if not yet done.

Please feel free for your follow up questions.

I would be happy to assist you further, if you need any more information.

Thanks for using Just Answer.

What about a pulmonary function test??
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Hello Shawn,

Diseases like Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension many show normal pulmonary function test which you mentioned was normal. and remain normal for considerable duration. Thus best investigations are Chest CT angiography and ventilation/perfusion (V/Q) scanning if all other investigations are normal. Anxiety too is not an uncommon cause of breathlessness. This may be concomitant to the other medical issue or can be an isolated phenomenon. The anemia panel too is important if not yet done, which is as below;

1) Complete blood count (CBC)

2) Peripheral blood film

3) Vitamin B-12

4) Folate

5) Reticulocyte count

6) LDH

7) Thyroid-stimulating hormone

8) Serum creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate

9) Serum ferritin

10) Serum iron

11) Total iron-binding capacity

The most common causes are;

1) iron deficiency (with or without blood loss),

2) chronic disease/inflammation

3) chronic kidney disease

4) deficiencies of folate or vitamin B-12,

5) diseases of the bone marrow

6) hypothyroidism, hypersplenism, and hemolytic anemia

It is privilege assisting you

Can any off these breathing issues be dangerous ??
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Like could ot make me not breath??
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Hello Shawn,

This is not likely to be dangerous. This is worth investigating but most likely to be a trivial issue.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok and witg my breathing it feels tight at upper abdomin i think at the diaphram maybw like something is pushing on my lungs?
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
This may be due to anxiety which may cause muscle spasm and this particular symptom.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok and as sever as i explainex my breathing can this in any way be related too anxiety? No matter what lifting orr moving i do if i does not include walking then i cant breath in the first 5 seconds off lifting something or moving quxkly
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Anxiety increases the retention of carbon dioxide in the lung transiently which is the reason of breathlessness which may aggravate during walking. Nothing serious or significant here.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok can maybe a heart issue be a factor?? I all ways feel my heart beating irregularly and sometimes just feel weird threw my body when it happens
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Heart is unlikely to be an issue in your case. Palpitations or feeling of irregularly beating heart is a classical symptoms of anxiety and panic.

Ok well if it is anxiety causing the breathing can anxiety make my shortness off breath soooo sever that i can barley do my dailey activites? I know i have bad anxiety i worry all the time, my anxiety revovles around health issues and when ever i think something i just did affects my health i instantly start freaking out not like bad freaking more just worring if ill be ok and that affects my breathing too not really short off breath but makes it more shallow,
For example: at work i work with some air lines and if i feel a pressure off air from the hose i start worring that i wil get an air bubble and i instantly start too get shallow breathing cause i think something bad is gonna happen, iv been told i cant get an air bubble but my anxiety so baf i cant help but too worry, so anything i think might affect my heslth and start too worry i get shallow breathing and besides that i cant run or move wuick or excersise or do anything for more then 5 seconds cause then i cant catch my breath and i am on anxiety meds 300 xl welbutren iv been taking anxiety meds for a year and tried diff kinds ill be on 300 welbutren just about 4 weeks couple more days
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 1 year ago.
Anxiety alone can be responsible for all your symptoms including the shortness of breath even on mildest exertion. Anxiety can be treated by the following measures by yourself;

1) Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and operant-behavioral therapy (OBT); done by a psychologist.

2) Relaxation training and biofeedback.

3) Hypnosis

4) Acupuncture and acupressure

5) Yoga

6) Meditation

7) Group sporting activities

8) St. John's wort

9) Melatonin
10) Valerian root

Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 12 months ago.
Hello and welcome Shawn,

This is no going to cause air bubble in the blood stream. No worry here at all. You would be okay
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Ok can air pressure cause any kind off damage??
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 11 months ago.
Hello Shawn,

Could you please explain more about your question (what kind of air pressure?). Thank you.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Like from an air line thats hooked up to a compressure has quite a bit off pressure
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 11 months ago.

The skin is quite elastic and it would not cause issues usually (even a significant pressure) except bruising etc if the pressure is very high. But it would not cause air bubble in the blood.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is it hard for a make to catch HIV??
Expert:  Dr. Arun Phophalia replied 11 months ago.
Shawn,
With a condom HIV is not transmitted. With a single unprotected vaginal sex chance is around one is hundred thousand. So yes it is rare to contract the HIV.
