Question for a doctor

This answer was rated:

Hello. Im a 25 year old male. I have a pain in my lower left rib cage. Both my primary doc and chriopractor have diagnoised me with floating rib. The pain comes and goes and can sometimes be worse than other. I get the pain after i eat. Some important things to keep note of is that i had a colon and endo done in march, came back normal. Blood work done in march, came back normal. I had a CT scan on my entire abdomen on saturday...all came back normal. What could cause the pain after i eat?

Dr. Brims :

Hello, welcome to the site! My name isXXXXX will try to assist you with your medical question and any medical information you seek.

Dr. Brims :

I'm sorry to hear about this pain

Dr. Brims :

Do you take any medication?

Customer:

i take something for IBS

Customer:

it starts with a "H"

Customer:

hyspocean or something?

Dr. Brims :

Okay, the pain in your stomach may be from IBS, or it may be from an ulcer

Customer:

i didnt have an ulcer but i had my colonoscopy

Customer:

this is happening in my rib

Dr. Brims :

A colonoscopy cannot detect a gastric ulcer

Dr. Brims :

It may be an ulcer, but it may also be due to IBS

Customer:

just a question

Dr. Brims :

ok

Customer:

im a very nervous person and was worried about some sort of cancer

Customer:

thats why i had the CT

Customer:

i thought something was wrong with my pancreas....did a little too much researching on the internet

Dr. Brims :

Your pancreas is fine if the CT scan was normal

Customer:

all my organs were fine

Dr. Brims :

ok

Customer:

i know this is ridiculous, but a CT scan would definetely show something right?

Dr. Brims :

Yes, it would

Customer:

ok

Customer:

so this might just be from an ulcer?

Dr. Brims :

Yes

Customer:

i sometimes feel like nausea when i wake up

Customer:

its only for 20 mins or so then goes away

Customer:

why would that be?

Dr. Brims :

It could be from IBS or an ulcer

Customer:

ok.

Customer:

thank you

Dr. Brims :

You're quite welcome
