Hi I have a question, I have a savers sore throat with no other symptoms my throat is red but I don't see any white, do you know what this could be?

Thank you for your question,

I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.

When did the symptoms start?

Do you have cough, fever or any other symptom?

Did you consult doctor or have any test?

Is Thera flu helping?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Symtoms started 2 days ago, I don't have any other symptoms and I didn't see a doctor or anything yet, Thera flu is not helping, the pain is really bad when I swallow
Thank you Ila, for the information.

The symptoms might have started as viral infection which usually resolve by itself with supportive therapy.

But sometimes, bacterial infection can occur.

Strep infection can cause redness.

White patches may not always be present early.

In strep infection, start of antibiotic will reduce the symptoms.

You have tried otc medicines, they did not help.

I would advise to consult doctor for test and treatment.

You can do warm salt water gargling.

1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt needs to be dissolved in an 8-ounces of warm water.

That will be soothing.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Do you know what would make my throat feel heavy?
Do you feel any difficulty in breathing?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
not really
In infection or inflammation there can be swelling of tissue.

This can cause a heavy feeling.
