This is a unhealthy situation.
Infection risk is the foremost.
Bacterial infection and parasitic infection ( tape worm for example) can occur.
Also dander allergy is common causing respiratory symptoms like cough, wheezing, shortness of breath.
Bacterial infections like salmonella, campylobacter should be borne in mind.
Dog fleas or ticks also are risk for lyme disease for example.
The overall risk of infection is low if the dogs are kept well, up to date vaccination and fed commercial food only ( no raw food).
Wow. What should I do? The place is 'clean' and neat. And she sprays the carpet. Would the health department help?
You can contact them.
Simple precautions can be taken easily to keep the dwelling area clean.
Precautions like what?
She refuses to located pads where they frequent.
as I mentioned above, the feces should be cleaned with disinfectants.
dogs should be vaccinated,
they should not have diarrhea --regular vet check up.
and no raw foods.
