Im having a lot of intestinal cramping and diarrhea.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
A medium amount. I did start the cipro and flagyl
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
So remind me--your GI called the antibiotics in but we have no idea exactly why?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Exactly
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.

I haven't got a clue why

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Could it be the antibiotics causing the cramping and diarrhea
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Could be, yes
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im really pukey feeling as well
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
What are your plans for today?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Nothung
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
All day just sitting at home?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yep, i should probably clean and make supper
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Why not get out for a couple of hours to do whatever?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Cuz i dont feel well. The teens are going to the fair
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Just a suggestion. MN state fair?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No that too far away. Just the county fair
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I was at the state fair once back in the early 80's
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was there once too. I didnt think it was anything too amazing. Way too many people
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Good movie out now--you could go see it
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ill prob just stay home and clean and cook
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, so long as you stay busy
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do you got any plans for today
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
That movie--The Butler--tonight. Laundry and cleaning this afternoon. Some piano in between
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Fun deal
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well--just my life away from work
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How can you work and still talk to me all day
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
In between patients
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
And I can multitask very well
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I see. Am i going tohave to avoid spicy/acidic foods for ever
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
No but for now of course you should
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How will i know when i can have them again
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
After your stomach completely settles down and no more heartburn
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok.
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Anything else?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not right now
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
OK--get back to me later then
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What besides celiac disease causes diffuse mucosal flattening
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
That was of your duodenum?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Sorry--was off. Not sure it's clinically relevant but no I don't know of anything else
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ive never had it before
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I'll check on that
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Huh?
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I meant I'd do some research. It can be from chronic inflammation but you're total symptoms just don't fit celiac
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Would some of my symptoms come from it
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
The abdominal cramping and the heartburn and diarrhea possibly. Were you specifically tested for it?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He sent biopsies to get tested because you said the findings are consistant with celiac disease
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
What about blood word for celiac antibodies? And are you saying he ran the test because he knew I suggested it?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He ran it because the findings in my duodenum sggests that. I did have a celiac panel done like a year ago
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Then it isn't very likely celiac
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Then what
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
We need to get off this subject. I know it takes up most of your waking hours thoughts, but you and I aren't going to come up with and answer.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Then what topic
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Nothing right now if you don't have one
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Your a dr. Why dont you have an answer about it
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im trying to decide if i should

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Anything else for now?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, I'll keep the page open then
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My calfs feel heavy
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Explain please
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Its hard to explain. Like achy or tired. But not necessarily hurt
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Can't really say much about if if that's all you can say
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My calfs feel like ive been walking miles and miles And my thigh on one side hurt
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I still don't know for sure what you're describing. Any swelling of the calves?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
One of the calfs is bigger than the other
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
All of a sudden?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im not sure
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
But not something you've had for a long time?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No not for a lobg time
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, you won't like this but you've put me--not your fault--in that hard place again. All I can say is this could be a deep venous thrombosis--leg vein clot--and, if so, it can lead to a pulmonary embolus. I've got no option but to tell you what I would anyone--you need an emergency Doppler venous flow study of the legs and if you have a DVT you'll need to be on blood thinners, although that's going to be tricky with your GI bleed
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
If they do a d dimer its going to be elevated because it always is
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
That's for looking for a PE, not a DVT.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
K. Is it something that can wait another day
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, the sooner the better but yes unless you suddenly get short of breath with chest pain
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok. And i didnt try to put you in a difficult spot
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I know but I know how you feel about ER's
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Not your fault at all--just glad you didn't snap at me for talking ER
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im far to tired to snap
At you
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
OK--anything else for today?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Why ami so tired all the time
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
You've asked that before and I can't give you just one answer but my first thought for today is the ativan. Of course, your sleeping pattern could also be part of it
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I havent taken any today
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Just saying those are my thoughts and just because you haven't taken the ativan today doesn't mean it can't still have an effect the next day
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are normal people this tired everyday
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, it certainly isn't something the average person suffers from
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thats all
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
That's all as in we're done?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No i just dont know what else to say right now
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
OK--let's close because I have a movie to go see. Talk at you tomorrow
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I know you are leaving to see amovie but it really hurts to pee
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Can't tell you much more about that than what we've discussed before--please don't post any more on this page because I have to be done for the night
