Is it my ulcers that are hurting my stomach

Customer Question

Is it my ulcers that are hurting my stomach
Submitted: 1 year ago.
Category: Health
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, tell me more about the pain.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It feels like my stomach is on fire. It has gotten Immensly worse since the scope
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Did the cocktail they gave you at the ER help at all, even if only for a short time?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No it didnt help any
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Then it isn't from the ulcers or the gastritis
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Then from what
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Can't be sure like I told you before. Crohn's could cause the pain and be unaffected by the cocktail. Pancreatitis could do it too.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I feel like crap
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Wish I could help with that, but I can't
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do you believe me? That the pain is that bad
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Yes I believe you. By chance did the ER check your amylase and lipase levels?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No. The np did today
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
And are the results back?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I havent seen her yet. Still waiting for thr ct
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I guess I'm confused--if you didn't see her how did she run the lipase and amylase?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She ordered lab and ct b4 appt. so shed have results
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Well, it could be pancreatitis and in that case the ct might show an enlarged pancreas
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Im freezing cold
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
What's your temp?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Normal
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Could be anemia then. When's the ct?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Labs look fine besides my calciums low. Ct showed a small amount of free fluid in my pelvis
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Then I really can't tell you what's causing the pain
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I think they think its all in my heas
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Why do you suppose my calciums low still?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I need you. I had blood in my stool again. It was maroonish and jelly like
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
And you talked to Dr. Thomas about that.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thats cuz you werent here. Whats your thoughts on the situation
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
What did the GI say about the blood in your stool?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He told the np and more blood in my pee, stool, or urine i need to get checked out. The first time it happened tonight i called the NP and she told me to go to the er but then she said see if it happens again. And it did. But i dont think its anything to worry about
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
But what did he tell you about where the blood was coming from?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He didnt. And none of my ulcers were bleeding
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
And you didn't at least ask him where it was coming from?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I havent seen MY gi dr. The dr who did my scope just told me breifly that i had ulcers, thats all i remember. And the np didnt say anything
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
OK--you still have some blood in your stool but what do you want me to say about it?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Do i need to go to the er? The gi dr said yes
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
What GI doctor?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My gi dr. The np said that he said it
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
Then you need to go. And please don't try to discuss this and ask me for any reasons why you shouldn't--if your own doctor gives you an order like that, I am never going to tell you not to follow that order
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What will the er do that wasnt already done today
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 1 year ago.
I specifically told you not to try doing that. Sorry but if you say anything more next time besides you're going to the ER, I'll opt out
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ill go to the er. The gi dr put me back on carafate
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
You cannot opt out when i need you
