Hi again Dr. I asked you a question back on 7/22 about my white stool. The next day i had some loose diahrea, it was brown in color...just loose and watery. I went twice and took some peptol bismol. today, i went to the bathroom and im just making pebbles that are black ( i know peptol does that). even though i had diahrea, it was its normal color brown. does that mean my liver and pancreas are working ok?

Thank you for your question,

I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.

Why are you worried about liver & pancreas?

Do you have pain or swelling of abdomen?

Did you have any test in this regard?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

i have done some research and i know that white stools can be from a pancreas or liver problem. i have no other symptoms, no pain or swelling. i had blood work done in march on liver and pancreas and everything came back normal. im just very nervous

When did you have white stool? How many times?

Did you have any other symptom with it like jaundice, pain?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

i had white stool on monday, atleast it looked white. no jaundice, no pain, no other symptoms. as i stated before, i had tests done in march and everything came back normal. i also had normal color brown stool around 7pm sunday night. the pale/white stool came around 9am monday morning.

Thank you Mike, for the information.

As the stool color was brown, it suggests that bile is coming to intestine & there is no obstruction to its flow.

Passing once in a while pale stool without other symptoms is not concerning.

Diet, intestinal transit etc. can be factors.

You are unlikely having any bile or liver or pancreatic issues.

Your tests were also normal.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.
