2 days ago I was at work and felt a blister in the middle of my upper lip, I busted it and wiped out colorless water from it. I slept and woke up yesterday with a painless swollen lip. I have gone to see the doctor and he prescribed antibiotics and vitamin c but the lip is still swollen what can I do?
Hello,

Thank you for your question,

I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.

Is the swelling increasing in size?

Is there any discharge from it now?

Did you take any pain medicine?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

No it is not increasing but it isnt reducing either.

There is no discharge. There is a drying wound at the part I busted.

Yes yesterday I took Ibuprofen but that was to reduce the inflammation not for pain.

Thank you for the information.

In infection & inflammation swelling is common.

The tissues in the lip are very loose.

Minute injury or inflammation can produce more swelling compared to other parts of the body.

It is common, it will take a bit more time.

Antibiotics can take some time to be fully effective.

If it gets worse, I would suggest to take an examination again.

Ibuprofen can be taken to reduce the inflammation.

Cold compression can be helpful.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.
