Thank you for your question,
I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.
When did it occur?
I woke from a nightmare about 45 minutes ago, and felt I needed to spit from mucus (drainage) in my mouth, so I did. For a few expetorations then and thereafter, there was a small amount of blood in the saliva. Including one time a sort of small red dot that I noticed was blood when I rubbed it a bit.
Do you have any past illness?
I have pretty persistent allergies/ sinus issues. But again, there's no blood when I blow my nose. Not this time, anyway. It was only when I spit.
It is possible to spit blood from post nasal drip without blood on blowing.
It depends on the source of blood.
If it is in the far end of the nose then blood may drip down the throat.
I see. So, just to be clear, you can spit blood due to post-nasal drip, and yet NOT see blood when you blow your nose?
However, if the bleeding continues or if it gets excessive, you need to get an examination.
Thank you. So, I'm about to rate now. I just want to make sure, are you an actual person, or are these computer-generated answers?
No it is not computer generated.
I am sitting here in front of computer.
Okay, thank you Dr. Sasha.
You are always welcome.
