Do you see any ulcer or redness?
No ulcer, maybe slight redness but it's hard to tell
can be from the hot beverages.
also sometimes viral infectino can cause this.
there is no treatment necessary
But for pain, you can us cepacol spray ( sore throat spray).
It should get better on its own over a week or so.
it doesn't feel like a regular sore throat. It;s a muscular type pain near where the tongue meets the lower jaw.
Could an infection cause this?
yes it can --more likely viral nifection.
Bacterial infection unlikely since the symptoms are not that severe.
okay. I tried massaging the muscle from the outside, but if its an infection I should just let it be, right?
Cepacol throat spray can be used
Abreva is another OTC ointment that may help with the pain.
Ok. Like I said, it feels like muscle pain (like I pulled or overworked a muscle) but if you say it is caused by an infection then I'll just deal with it, maybe take some ibuprofen. Thanks!
that will be fine
