Hello,

Thanks for providing more information.

As you describe constipation can be a contributing factor in your hemorrhoids.

You can use suppositories 2-3 times a day.

Also warm sitz baths or soaks in warm water for 15-20 minutes three times per day can be helpful.

Lidocaine 3%, 4%, 5% lotion or cream apply thin film to affected area 2 to 3 times daily can relieve pain.
You can use witch hazel as well.
Use moist towelettes or wet toilet paper.
Take Metamucil.
Drink plenty of water.
Avoid alcohol, spicy food, fat rich food.
Avoid straining during bowel movement.
Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Avoid long periods of standing or sitting.

If your symptoms'll persist more than 5 days then consult a proctologist for a clinical examination for further evaluation and management.
In case you have profuse bleeding, dizziness then visit ER for prompt management.

I hope I’ve provided the information you were seeking. If you are happy with my service, please provide a positive rating. If not, please let me know so l can continue to help you. Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for the follow-up.

Sorry for late reply and inconvenience.

You should continue anusol 25 mg suppository twice a day for next 1-2 weeks.
Duclolax, Surfak, Colace, etc are Stool softeners - they are not 'bulking' agents.
Metamucil - is a fiber product and is considered a bulking agent to give you more 'formed' stools.
Stool softener should be used if you have constipation now and should be used for short term use.
Metamucil should be taken daily with no side effects.
If your symptoms'll persist then consult your doctor for further evaluation and management.
In case of profuse bleeding then visit ER.

I hope this helps.

If you have any further query then feel free to ask.

Bonus and positive feedback are highly appreciated.

Good Luck.

Thank you.

Your advice and explanation are outstanding!!! Also very thorough! I have one other question...when to use the suppoSitory and when to use the lidocaine . If I have just inserted the anusol , how long if at all should I wait for the lidocaine ..I realize that one is on the inside and other on outside but do they conflict with each other? Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for the follow-up.
Anusol suppository should be used in morning and night.
And apply lidocaine jelly 1 hour after suppository.
Usually there is no drug interaction between Anusol and Lidocaine.
However if your symptoms'll persist more than a week then make an appointment with your proctologist for further evaluation and management.

I hope this helps.

If you have any further query then feel free to ask.

Bonus and positive feedback are highly appreciated.

Good Luck.

Thank you.
