Thank you for your question,
I’m Dr. Saha and I’ll try to help you.
When did the pain start?
How frequently do you feel it?
when bending over, sometimes sneezing, or when pressure applied hence like bending over etc
Does the pain go away when you remain still?
Do you have any other symptom?
Where do you feel the tenderness exactly?
currently no other symptons, if I put my fingers under my left rib, about 3 fingers...and push down lightly it is tender and with slight pressure the pain
feels like it is burning yet torn feeling
Do you have difficulty in breathing?
no, took some deep breaths just now, no pain as I have had pleurisy before but this feels completely different
Is there any swelling or bloating?
if I squeeze it as I just did I can feel the burning again, like a sucking in squeeze motion
no swelling or bloating differences
The pain can be due to a few factors.
Pain on pressure or tenderness on left side below ribs can come from gastritis, reflux.
Reflux can be increased on bending.
Inflammation of pancreas can cause pain & tenderness there.
Again pain on bending or sneezing can be related to nerve.
There can be nerve impingement.
Shingles is also a common cause of pain there.
Though pleurisy pain can be increased by sneezing but there should be cough or other symptoms.
I would suggest to take an examination by doctor.
I ruled out pleurisy only because I have had it and it was a different feeling. I will call my general prac. shortly.
You need to take a few tests.
Ultrasound, EKG, X ray, blood tests can be necessary.
sounds perfectly normal there.
I am leaning towards stomach related, intestinal and will now rule out pancreas.
just basing of course on and how it is feelings. earlier when i bent over I wanted to shout it felt like someone put a branding iron inside of me
An ultrasound, enzyme tests would be helpful.
Thank you.....at least I will be prepared...for most of those when I go in.
You are always welcome.
I believe you have shared enough information to get me in the right direction.
I will continue to monitor when and how for a little bit
so I can provide my family dr the right info
Yes, you need to provide enough information which aggravate the pain.
coming from a family of nurses...I learned to do just that. LOL thank you again.
I also thought like that as you used medical terms properly.
Have a good day. I will write some of your info down as well as ideas to monitor for.
You are again welcome.
I took Medical term. in college might have helped.
Thank you!! Have a good day
