I feel a light pain on my chest (heart area) when I take a deep breathe. It started after a 40 min of swim at the pool. I'm training for a marathon and I'm swimming as a cross training exercise.
Hi--have you ever had this happen before? Are you actually short of breath?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

No. I feel ok now. Is just when I take a deep breathe

OK--any tenderness to the touch in that area? And is this near your breast bone?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

did you got my last answer

Sorry no--can you type it in again?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes. There's a light tenderness and Yes the pain is close to the breast bone.

OK--most likely this is a mild case of costochondritis--inflammation of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the breast bone. Nothing too serious and you can try capsaicin cream and oral ibuprofen for it but in more serious cases it sometimes takes a cortisone injection. That said, since I can't examine you, you should see a doctor as soon as possible for this just to make sure this isn't a cardiac problem or, perhaps, a pulmonary embolus. I really don't have any concern that it is one of those, but I'm obligated to tell anyone with chest pain to see a doctor about it
