Resolved Question:

My husband has small dark red bumps all over his body. They started about 24 hours ago with just a few and now they've spread all over. All of the areas are extremely itchy except a spot near his groin area that doesn't itch but burns severely. He had the chicken pox as a child and these are small raised bumps. I have a photo but don't know how to post it. Any ideas of what this could be and how to alleviate it?

If it is not a clear enough photo we can take another one. He said it started on the tops of his feet and ankles.

Thank you for the information,
Though chicken pox gives long lasting immunity but in some cases there can be a recurrence.

Typically fluid filled blisters develop which is not apparent here.
Another possibility is an allergic reaction.

He needs an examination by doctor in the morning.

You can give him oatmeal bath.

You have given 2 benadryl tablets already.

It would help with itching.
You can give acetaminophen for pain & burning.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Regards.

there are little tiny pus pockets on the tops of the bumps. they look like whiteheads actually
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 3 years ago.
Pus points can be present in bacterial infection like stap.

But it is unlikely to spread over such a short period.

In chicken pox, the fluid can appear cloudy after some time.

I would suggest to get him checked by doctor.

Meanwhile, you can take those home measures, I wrote earlier.
