my brother takes Percocet for pain in high doses. He borrowed some from a friend and they have a foul smell and taste. It is a chemical smell, like rubber. I am worried they are bad. Usually they have no taste or smell to me.
Hi--I take it these new pills don't look like your brother's usual Percocets?

He says they look the same, just have a strong odor and hence taste.

OK. Just so your brother knows, what he did basically constitutes a felony on both his and his friend's part since it's basically the friend trafficking in a controlled substance and your brother's being in possession of pills he wasn't prescribed, although hardly ever is anyone prosecuted for that since the authorities aren't aware of it. That said, true Percocets have neither a strong smell nor a strong taste and so I would assume these pills have something as an additive that could well be toxic so he shouldn't consume them.
