Hello,
I am a sexually active 25 year old male. I am concerned about a hard lump between my scrotum and anus. It is underneath the skin, but it is tender and red. I've had a history of hemorrhoids for the past year or so. Can you please shed some light on my problem? Thank you.

Hello,

Is it painful?

Excessive sweating?

Do you have pain during defecation?

Blood in stool recently?

Since how long have you seen suffering from?

Any other medical history?

Are you taking any medications?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Thank you for the quick response. It's not painful during defecation, but it is when I wipe the area. It seemed like it was a hernia or sore at first and it healed over. I've had it for about a week and I just noticed the lump under the skin today. I haven't had any blood in my stools, but I've had some spotting on the toilet paper after wiping.

I don't think I'm sweating more than usual and I don't have a fever. The closest medical history to the area was a hernia when I was 18. I'm not taking any medications either.

Hello,
Thanks for providing more information.

As you describe possible causes may include a sebaceous cyst,Folliculitis.
And you should take OTC Motrin 200 mg every 6 hourly.

Also do warm stiz bath.

You can clean the area with antiseptic betadine solution and apply OTC 1% hydrocortisone cream mixed with Bacitracin ointment.

If you have itching then take OTC Claritin.

Also wear loose cotton undergarments to prevent any friction.

Hydrate yourself with plenty of fluids.

If your symptoms'll persist then consult your regular doctor for further evaluation and management.

I hope this helps.
