My STD result for HSV-I came as: HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 0.98 where, Negative

This answer was rated:

My STD result for HSV-I came as:
HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 0.98
where,
Negative 1.09

I have never had any symptoms such as sores/blisters in my lips or genitals
Is the Equivocal result a cause of concern ? As I am planning to get married ?
Should I get tested again ?
Hi--can you tell me everything the report said?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

HSV 1 and 2-Specific Ab, IgG
HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec 0.98 HIGH 0.00-0.90 index BN
Negative <0.91
Equivocal 0.91 - 1.09
Positive >1.09
.
Note: Negative indicates no antibodies detected to
HSV-1. Equivocal may suggest early infection. If
clinically appropriate, retest at later date. Positive
indicates antibodies detected to HSV-1; coinfection
with HSV-2 cannot be excluded without type specific

HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec <0.91 0.00-0.90 index BN
Negative <0.91
Equivocal 0.91 - 1.09
Positive >1.09
.
Note: Negative indicates no antibodies detected to
HSV-2. Equivocal may suggest early infection. If
clinically appropriate, retest at later date. Positive
indicates antibodies detected to HSV-2; coinfection
with HSV-1 cannot be excluded without type specific
testing.

Sorry--I didn't see a value fir the HSV 2? And do you realize HSV 1 relates to oral herpes--cold sores? And why were you screened?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

For HSV-2, the report just says it is less than 0.91 . It does not give any specific value as it does in HSV-1.

I just wet for screening because I am planning to get married.

OK. Nothing really to worry about here. I would rescreen you later but at most you've been exposed to HSV 1 in the distant past and it could even have been a cold sore you had as a child. You don't have genital herpes so there really isn't anything for you to worry about.

So I can go ahead with the marriage ? There should be no problem rite ?

Should I be concerned about transmitting HSV-1 to my partner ?

Can the blood test be not correct sometimes ? As in my case, the result are equivocal for hsv-1 ?

When would you advise me getting re-tested ? And what type of test would you recommend

Thanks for help, doc.
