Hi Dear,

I am taking clozapine for psychosis and yet it is not helping that much. My Doctor gave me a blood work to do it is called therapeutic blood monitoring. Can you tell me in detail what it is this test for and what it will show? Because of memory problem sometimes I miss my medication. My question is, Is this test show that I missed my clozapine or show that clozapine is less in my blood? I am kind of worried. Thank you so much.

Hi--your doctor was checking to see what level of clozapine was in your blood and to see if it were a therapeutic level. If you only missed a dose or two that wouldn't affect the levels but if you missed, say, a few day's worth that would show up as a low or nontherapeutic level.
