This answer was rated:

I have had severe cramping and pain in my calves when I walk more then 1000 feet for approximately. the last four years. I have triied drinking more water, potassium suppliments, Chiropractic care and massage therapy, nothing has worked, the condition continues to get worse. I am 46 and at 23 I was diagnosed with "small artery disease". is this a symptom of peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis? what doctor or specialist should I be consulting for diagnosis and treatment?

Hi,
Thanks for providing more information.

As per your description, you need to consult a Vascular specialist as your symptoms are suggestive of peripheral vascular disease, venous insufficiency

And you need to undergo Color doppler study of lower limbs, ankle brachial pressure index (ABPI),Magnetic Resonance Angiogram.

In my opinion, you should make an appointment ASAP.

Prolonged hours of standing, smoking histories are main contributing factors in your condition.

Hope this helps.
