Hi

I am late in period. My last period started 24th of February. I am normal regular. I was on a course of neomycin antibotics for 2 weeks. Can that effect my period? Would an endoscopy also affect my period?

Dr. Saha :

Hello,

Systemic illness like cough, cold or diarrhea or an infection can cause missed period.

Customer:

I think 6 weeks ago or 7 weeks ago

Customer:

but i had a period after that

Dr. Saha :

Then you should not be worried about pregnancy.

Customer:

is it not possible to get a period and be pregnant?

Dr. Saha :

You had period after sex, so it is unlikely to be due to pregnancy.

Customer:

antibotics then?

Dr. Saha :

Did you have 28 days' cycle?

Customer:

I normally do

Dr. Saha :

Usually ovulation occurs 14 days before the period.

Dr. Saha :

So in 28 days' cycle it would be about 14 days after the last period.

Dr. Saha :

You did not have sex during that time.

Dr. Saha :

Sometimes hormonal changes can be there.

Customer:

yeah

I guess i will wait and see
