I smoke tobbaco cigarettes and try to qut smoking. I read that many smokers use e- cigarettes . Are they really safe?

Hi,

I understand that there have been mixed opinions regarding the use of these cigarettes as a result of which their safety is still under question.
The FDA has conducted studies where they have found toxic as well as carcinogenic substances in these cigarettes.
As of now there are no studies that go on to prove that these are safe and have not yet been approved by the FDA as yet.

So in my opinion, you shouldn't try e-cigraette without consulting your doctor.

And it's good to quit smoking and i recommend Chantix which helps in quitting smoking and can be prescribed by your doctor.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up.

I understand your worry so you should go for other options like

Nicotine replacement therapy in the form of Nicotine gum, patches, inhalers, sprays, and lozenges.

Behavioral therapy. The therapist will help you to identify your triggers, come up with ways to get through cravings, and provide emotional support when you need it most.

Medications like Zyban (bupropion) which helps to stop smoking by reducing cravings and other withdrawal effects.

I suggest you to consult your doctor as well.
