Customer Question

I fell asleep last night holding a picture in my right hand; now, the part of the tip on my right pinky finger is numb. Could I have compressed a nerve? I was sleeping on my right side, also. I'm scared the feeling won't come back. :-(

Hello,

mysticdoc :

Thanks for your question.

mysticdoc :

Yes, you likely have compressed the nerve supplying the right pinky finger.

mysticdoc :

This may take few weeks to get the sensation back.

mysticdoc :

You can do some finger stretching exercises.

mysticdoc :

This is not serious.

mysticdoc :

Avoid lifting or gripping using the right pinky finger for now.

Best wishes,
