When I step and flex my right foot, I feel sharp pain around

This answer was rated:

When I step and flex my right foot, I feel sharp pain around the arch. It hurts to go on my toes, but feels fine standing still. I slightly pressed each area on my foot and there was no pain. I can rotate my ankle with no problems. It started yesterday when I was walking to a friend house and it just got worse with each step. I'm not a runner or a swimmer, but I do march in marching band twice a week. But, balmy foot started hurting a week after the last practice.
Hello,

Welcome to Just Answer.

Do you feel any swelling there?

Did you get any injury while going to friend house?

Thank you.

No swelling and I don't bealive I injured my foot along the way.

Thank you for the information,

There can be a few causes here.

This can occur from a strain to ligaments.

Other causes can be due to inflammation of fascia, stress fracture etc.

I would advise you to have an examination by doctor & have some tests like X ray if the doctor thinks necessary after examination.

Application of ice can be helpful.

Please do not apply directly.

Apply after wrapping in a towel & not more than 10-15 min at a time.

If the pain is much, pain medicine like ibuprofen can be taken in the absence of contraindication.

You need to take it after food to avoid irritation of stomach.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please press the EXCELLENT/ GOOD FEEDBACK and feel free for any follow up query.

Regards.
