Dr. Nomi :

Hi,

These are called muscle fasciculations and are normally seen in muscle after a stressful activity. They can also be there due to low vitamin B 12 or low potassium levels in body. However, nothing to worry about over all.

Dr. Nomi :

Take raisans and bananas in diet as a source of potassium.

Dr. Nomi :

Get Vitamin B 12 levels checked up.

Customer:

would that also have to do with anemia ?

Dr. Nomi :

I hope rest is fine and there is no other problem a part from this.

Dr. Nomi :

If you are having anemia and it is folate deficiency anemia then yes itcan be related.

Customer:

no its just like a weird vibrating feeling right at the entrance of my anus.

Dr. Nomi :

Yes,muscular electrolyte disturbance can cause this.

Customer:

Idk if im having anemia i have felt kind of tired the past week. I an on birth control pills and i thought i might be pregnant

Customer:

but i took three test that were negative and got my period this week

Customer:

so i seriously dont think im pregnant anymore

Dr. Nomi :

Yes,low vitamin B 12 also causes anemia hence muscle fasciculations

Dr. Nomi :

No you are not pregnant.get iron and vitamin B 12 levels checked up.

Dr. Nomi :

To rule out anemias.

Customer:

yeah i wasnt sure if i was pregnant just bc i felt a little more tired but after having three negative tests each a week apart and having my periopd i dontink thats the case

Customer:

so you know if a OBGYN can check anemia levels

Customer:

do you

Dr. Nomi :

Yes ,she can .

Dr. Nomi :

She will take bloods. But you can consult with primary care doc if u like.

Customer:

ok is that done in the office or would she have to order blood tests

Dr. Nomi :

It depends some do in office and some send the test.

Customer:

ok

Customer:

what should i do until then?

Dr. Nomi :

Try to exercise less.

Dr. Nomi :

Eat mor vegetables.

Customer:

i mean i can call my primary doc tomorrow or i can wait till the 26th when i go to the OBGYN for my papsmear

Dr. Nomi :

Green leafy vegies.

Dr. Nomi :

You can wait ll 26th .No rush.

Customer:

could i be flushing my system out with too much water

Dr. Nomi :

Yep.

Dr. Nomi :

But only 10 glasses per day

Customer:

ok so should i cut my fluid intake down a little bit and see if that helps

Dr. Nomi :

Yes.

Customer:

ok

Customer:

So you deffinetly dont think it could have anything to do with me being pregnant

Customer:

bc that was the first thing i thought of when it happend

Dr. Nomi :

No its not pregnancy related.

Customer:

okay.

Customer:

what do you think about that situation i had going on. do you think three negative tests and the fact that i had a withdrawal bleed is sufficient enough to show im not pregnant.i mean im on loestrin 24 fe too

Dr. Nomi :

Okay.Three tests are enough to show that there is no pregnancy.

Customer:

Okay. I thought so. My birth control has iron in it wouldnt that help me as far as anemia goes

Customer:

also do you think taking a multivitamin would help

Dr. Nomi :

Some anemias are related to Vitamin B 12 deficiency they do not cure even u take iron.

Customer:

ok

Dr. Nomi :

Yes,it can help but depends how many miligrams of b12 it has .

Customer:

the one that i have has 6 mcg

Customer:

it say 100% daily value

Dr. Nomi :

It is sufficient .

Dr. Nomi :

These vibrations can be of unknown cause.

Customer:

what do you mean ?

Customer:

They didnt start until the day after i started my withdrawl bleed on this past Wednesday

Dr. Nomi :

Means some time no specific etiology is behind them .They appear for a while then disappear for many months.

Customer:

ohh okay.

Customer:

Thank you for clearing up that they have nothing to do with pregnancy that makes me feel a lot better. I mean i know im on birth control but theres still that 1 %

Dr. Nomi :

YES,NO WORRIES

Customer:

So your final recommendation is that i try taking that multivitamin and watch my fluid intake until i go to the dr on the 26th

Dr. Nomi :

Yes,perfect.

Customer:

oh and chill out and not worry about being pregnant bc i have had three negative tests and a withdrawl bleed haha

Customer:

and bc im on birth control

Dr. Nomi :

Yep.

Customer:

okay. Thank you very much.

Dr. Nomi :
