Customer Question

I started to feel a dull pain about three days ago in my upper left side(close to center) of my chest and if I pressed with my fingers it hurt more, today it hurts more specially if I sneeze or cough. The pain feels like it's on my chest bone or right under it.Should I see pulmonary specialist and take an X ray?

Hello,

Welcome to Just Answer.

Is there any other symptom?

Is there any fever, cough?

Is there any previous disease?

Thank you.

Customer replied 253 days and 16 hours ago.

No, nothing else, actually I just had a doctors check up for my blood pressure medication (losartanh ctz 100/25) which I'm on for a few years. The doctor told me that I'm in good health, that was about a day or two before the pain started.

Thank you for the information,

The pain in that area can be due to different factors.

It can be due to muscle spasm or strain.

Costochondritis of the ribs can cause it.

Inflammation or infection of lung or its covering pleura etc. can cause pain here.

Those pain can be increased by coughing, sneezing.

Sometimes, heart pain can be felt here but that would not be cause by pressure.

You can consult your primary care doctor.

He can take an examination & take X ray.

If necessary, doctor can refer you to a pulmonologist.

I hope this information helps.

Please continue conversation till you are satisfied.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query by using reply button before putting negative rating.
