After sex with my girlfriend, I find it hard to fall asleep sometimes. I entire body feels incredibly warm and my mind is racing. I am 24 years old, and I was wondering what might the cause or etiology of this?

How long has this been going on and is the only time you have a sleeping problem is after sex?
This has only happened twice, and recently so I cannot say whether it will happen again. However, I usually fall sound asleep. Also, a quick edit is that I have not tried any medication for this. And this is the only time I've ever felt this way in particular when having trouble sleeping (i.e. feeling incredibly warm with my mind racing).
Any recent stress in you life or with those two particular sexual episodes?
Yes there has definitely been recent stress. I just finished my graduate thesis, which has been stressing me for a few weeks up to this point. No specific stress related to the two sexual episodes though.
OK. I don't think this is from any particular medical condition then. Obviously, just after sex, some guys can be wound up instead of the usual feeling very drowsy and falling right to sleep. You don't need to worry about this because I don't think it will happen again and, if it does, just tell yourself that it's the stress resurfacing.
