Hello
The diagnosis of angina would not be correct unless they have seen ischemia..problems with blood flow to the heart...or..they think it is angina based on clinical findings and exam...in which case they should arrange more definitive testing such as stress test.

what does a stress test include?

walking on a treadmill, usually have an isotope injected to help watch the heart, and also having a monitor on.
Or, stress echo..which is the same type of thing...trreadmill and heart ultrasound.

what exactly is an isotope?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 4 years ago.
It is a substance that goes into the vein such as cardiolyte which allows a machine to read the blood flow through the heart.

Here is a good description of such a stress test

i had a similiar test before, but it was to see if there was any blockage?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 4 years ago.
Correct
So if that was clear..the only way to be more definitive is a CT angiogram or angiogram.

what is an angiogram?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 4 years ago.
They put a catheter into the leg, up to the heart and inject dye into the heart vessels to see them more accurately.
