Come July, I am going in for a right bunionectomy c pin fixation. Wondering what the c pin fixation is.. and is this a painful recovery???

Greetings.

The recovery is not painful. The pin fixation keeps the toe bone in the right alignment and thus prevents the recurrence of bunion. Type C pins are coated with titanium and are suppose to give good support to the bone and joint of the toe.

Yes, weight bearing on the operated foot is not allowed for about 4 weeks; so crutches would be given. Than gradually partial weight bearing and later full weight bearing would be allowed.
